Question new here!! looking for pinkslip help

hey guys my names ryan and im new the the forum. my grandpa and i are about to take on a 1972 chevy c10.

so here is what im running into. the chevy has been sitting on out land for the past 20 years almost and the original owner has passes away about 10 years ago. he was my grandpas step son from a former marrige.

we have the pinkslip but it was never signed.
so i was wondering if anyone has experiance here im trying to get it in my name before we start the rebuild is this possible? i live in california

thanks for any info that can be thrown my way.
