Default New here thinking about old school Caprice

Hi everyone I'm interested in getting an old school Chevy Caprice as a car to toy around with and I was wondering if I can get some input on two that I was looking at. The first one is a 1973 Caprice asking price is $3700, and the second one is an '89 for $1900. I much prefer the look of the '73 but for some reason that's the only one I can find within reasonable driving distance of my zip code and it's more then I wanted to spend. But i'm thinking about watching it for a few months to see if he comes down in price. The guy had the '73 relisted a few times already without any price drop so i'm thinking he might be one of those attached sellers and isn't willing to negotiate. Is there anything I should know about these two models, are the engines reliable and would I be able to drive them problem free for a few years because I definitely don't need to give myself anymore unecessary chores. Also are these cars priced appropriately? I appreciate any help.
