Hey everyone.

My name is Jon, and I recently got ahold of an 82 El Camino. I have decided to replace the engine, and am looking for suggestions on what to use.

Thanks.

I'm going for power. I'm just hoping there is a way to get a good ammount without making the car undrivable. My uncle has recommended a smallblock 350 with a new cam and manifold. Just looking around for other opinions.

my 305 was pretty reliable but it was way low in the power department lol. How mechanically inclined are you? you have a world of options with chevy small blocks ever thought of a stroker?
