New Thunder Bay Venture owner
Wife & I had 2000 Venture, purchased new in 2000, 'til totalled in accident in 2010 (still have it for spare parts). Loved that van, even though had to do the infamous intake manifold gasket & head gaskets.
Anyhow, had purchased 2003 Nissan Murano after accident to get by with, but after almost 2 years of using that, we both decided that we preferred to get a Venture again, 'cause we're both getting older & it's easier on us & for our dogs (as they get older) to get them in & out of the van. I'm retired so a new vehicle is not an option.
So we picked up a used 2003 Venture LS with 115,000Km on it about a week ago, & so far we love it. We're the 2nd owners. Previous owner had some minor body work performed (touched up rockers & protected with rock guard?). Not perfect, but nice looking & appears to run good. Was sold to original owner in late 2003, so I'm hoping it has the upgraded intake manifold gasket & won't experience that expensive problem.
I figure I'll get it in to have the coolant flushed & changed (think it's original), have the tranny fluid changed (think it's original) & then get it Rust Check coated (after I install Hidden Hitch 2in receiver hitch to allow us to pull aluminum cargo trailer and/or use cargo carrier).
