Hi All,

Just purchased a 2007 Suburban LT3, pretty well loaded up, but without Nav or backup camera (might add them later), with 101k miles.

And...ordered the Range Technologies V8 (disable AFM).

Anyway, my first GM in a while, next prior was a 99 'Burb, which we kept until 2006, so yeah, been a while.

Thanks for the welcome. I am a do-it-yourself kinda person, used to work in a shop that specialized in 4 wheel drive stuff, and did plenty of lift kits, suspension work, alignments and such.

Nowadays I do computer programming, but still work on all my own (and my family's) vehicles.

Have to investigate common problem areas for the 2007 (besides the oil burning, which I hopefully don't have), and prepare for the 'fixes'....

Will be searching on what the 'best' diagnostic software/hardware is for the DIY mechanic....

That is a good topic to get started re: good software... I have been looking at these folks http://www.scantool.net/obdwiz/
You can get the USB OBD2 tool from Amazon for about $50... they have software add-ons on the scantool site that I was hoping to get more feed back about...
