Default Newbie with a question

I currently own a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu Classic. I have had the car for almost two years now and have had no problems with it thus far. I recently just drove it from Dallas, Tx to Gainesville, Fl.

I am now though experiencing a few things. Recently the car has a semi rough idle. I have a nice vibration when I put the car in Drive. The vibration gets even more pronounced when I turn the air conditioner on. Any ideas on what might cause this behavior?

Also recently I have heard a kind of sqeaking noise when I am driving down the road. I hear the noise on my right side. When ever I apply the brakes though the noise goes away. Any idea on this one also?

Again thank you for allowing me to join this forum.
Any replies or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Larry

Odie,

Put this post under the Malibu thread and someone might answer it for you. I haven't seen too many Malibu guys on here tho.

The V6's don't idle as smoothly as a V8. They have a balance shaft to take care of that odd crankshaft alignment. The vibration could be loose torque converter bolts. I had the same problem on an Astro van.
