Default Owner of 77 chevy pick up

hi my name is Cody. So before i turned 16, i bought a 1977 chevy 1500 pickup. it had a 400 cabureted engine. it needed new front fenders and a new hood and new inner fenders. iit had a 6 inch lift on it, suspension in the front, blocks in the rear. it ran, but when i got it home i realized the guy who i bought it from had noo oil in it. so when i pulled off the whole front clip and and fenders and hood, i decided to pulll the engine to do a inspection on it. like check valve guides, and it needed a rear main seal, and i didnt wanna do that while it was on the frame. well after pulling the oil pan, i pulled the mains, and all the bearings were oil deprived, so i figured i should just rebuild it. but after a buddy mentioned something to me, i started thinking that i should put a 454 in it, but i want a 454 vortec engine, so i get more power and better fuel economy. and just a over all better engine than the 400. and i need the motor, the two fuel pumps for my two tanks, and high pressure lines, and the ECM. but i need to know what else im over looking that i need to do the swap, plus i need to know exactly how to do the swap, because this is really my first project by myself. so i joined the forum for help
