Hi, I have a 1998 Chevy Silverado K1500 pu automatic transmission 5.7, I need help to learn How to permanently disabled steering wheel lock on my truck. Id like to keep the cruise control working if possible. I've already removed my steering wheel. But stopped. I know how to remove the air bag clock spring thing (or whatever it's name is). And I have the lock plate tool to push on it to get the little hog ring clip off. But having the tools and being able to take it all apart isn't the problem.
I need to know what to leave out , so the steering wheel lock won't engage anymore. Or if there's a little rod to file down or cut off... Or something. It's gotta be possible... Please let me know in as good of details as you can. Pictures would help to....
