need some help i have a 1997 k1500 i dont if the speedo or what when my speedo show 75 mph but im only going 65 ?

do you have the proper size tires and differentials that the factory speedo is meat to work with?

 

tires yes diff i dont no i only had the truck for about a 2 weeks .

 

jack up the back end and turn the tires 1 turn and count the drive shaft rotation.


don't think the 97 had this but the 1999-06 has tire size programming in the ebcm. you could program in the correction for larger tires. it is possible that its been set up for larger tires at one time.

 

i tire i have on now are 265/R70/17 with are the same as 265/R75/16
