stinky exhaust

Default stinky exhaust

I have a 79 K10. When I start it in the morning (in so cal) it really smokes and stinks like eggs. I have heard the Q-jet carb is notorious for this. Is this correct or is it something else

The Catalytic Converter is Probably the culprit. It'll have the smell of sulphur when it's bad.
