I have a 2011 Silvarado 2500HD crew / LS 6.0 / 6L90E. I need to tow a 10,000# trailer 1,200 miles. Will it handle it? FYI: I have a weight-distributing / say-control hitch system.

Great looking Silvarado and welcome to the forum! I'm sure you will find a lot of useful information about it on here.

Ur truck will pull the load but probably not very much in overdrive. The 6.0 will be mighty thirsty under that amount of load. I`ve pulled 12,000 with an 08 GMC with a 5.3. Stopping will be a problem if you don`t have trailer brakes. Keep plenty of distance between you and anything ahead.

You really need to know exactly what the GTW is for your ride.
If you're stopped by the state guys, they can Fine you if you're overloaded.

don't even compare your 5.3 to this truck... worlds apart. your 5.3 is probably rated at 7000lbs and you pulled 12000. Your 5.3 has crappier axle ratios, engine, trans torque capacity, suspension, braking, tires, fluid coolers
