Transmission Dipstick for a 1996 chevy wt

We recently purchased 1996 Chevy wt for our son as a first driver. We found an extra transmission dipstick in the tool box. How do we tell is it currently has the correct transmission dipstick installed?

See if there is a part number on the dipstick and then check it against the correct part number.

Makes me wonder,why the spare, thinking out loud,a handy tool,previous owner a plumber?not a bad pipe snake?and stories from long ago,people cooking on their engine,used for kabobs?
