Upset About Discontinued Parts.
So I own a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu LS 4 door Sedan.
I can understand discontinuing a car in a whole, but to remove the parts from being able to be bought is a real scummy thing to do. I've been a active fan of the Chevrolet brand all my life.
But this is down right wrong.
you can at least keep the parts of the older models able to be bought as a customized feature and charge a commission fee for having to make the part brand new.

Unfortunately, America is a buy it and throw it away society these days. 10 year old stuff might as well be on Antiques Road Show. I have a 93 Suburban, try getting stuff for that!!
Junk yards are your friend.

They are stopping parts on models that they still make. This isn't just a Chevrolet issue. They still make the Dodge Challenger but try to get an ABS module and you are told that they don't make them anymore and a used one cannot be programmed, (It absolutely can be programmed, just not with the original tools and software.) I spend thousands of dollars on cloning equipment and aftermarket scanners, scopes and adaptors to try to keep my clients' vehicles on the road with diminishing parts supplies. My suggestion to the original poster is to call around to a few different shops besides the dealership..
What do you use for cloning? I work at an independent shop in a small town and we’re constantly trying source and/or install used modules for customers.
I’ve been thinking about investing in cloning software/equipment but have no idea where to start.
