valvetrain problem

Default valvetrain problem

i got a 91 350 block with 99 vortec heads ported out... got the motor put together and started it up for about two minutes then i cut it off ok..... and then my push rods got bent up and some of them snaped...any ideas what i can do?

Welcome to the Chevrolet Forum. I'm assuming the pushrods got bent before you shut 'er down. Two things I can think of that could cause that. One is the cam lift is more than the slot in the rockers will allow. This assumes you're using Chevy stamped steel rockers. The other would be that the valves are hitting the pistons.

Why did you shut 'er down after only two minutes?

Might repost this in the General Tech section to get more exposure.
