Bought a 2008 3500HD on auction. At the time it was a great deal. Once I got it, things change. Not sure good or bad. The body and transportation/rear end have 200k and the motor has 30k. Supposedly the motor was from a 2008 Chevy Ambulance and it is also a 6.6 Turbo Diesel.

The previous owner abandoned it and left it so mice could get in. I hat to take the whole interior apart minus the dash. There is no power to the moon roof, stereo, back sliding window, and a few more smaller items. The dash says to service the 4 wheel and I was told it could be stuck in four wheel drive. But haven’t verified that yet.

I was told it could be the body control module, if so, are there any other indicators I should look at. And my biggest question is, is the body control module programmed to the motor or to the vehicle and because the motor was changed does that body control module need to be programmed to the vin of the car or the motor?

Would the body control module have an effect on the four-wheel-drive?
