With the 2014 Chevrolet SS expected to go on sale by the end of this year, production for the high-performance sedan has reportedly kicked off at its Australian assembly plant. According to Motoring.com.au, the SS began rolling off the Holden assembly line this week, but there's no word as to whether the cars are being shipped to the US just yet.

One thing that hasn't been talked about much is production capacity; the article says that General Motors is initially planning to build around 10,000 to 15,000 of the sedans per year. Holden managing director Mike Devereux is quoted as saying, "We will build as many as they want and I think Americans are going to love that car."
