Renowned performance tuning company, Callaway, must have a lot of cargo to haul around these days. First, it teased us with the Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake back in March, and now it is getting to work on the all-new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks.
With all-new EcoTec3 V8 engines featuring direct injection and variable valve timing, Callaway is looking to use supercharging to bump the 5.3-liter V8 up to 450 horsepower and the 6.2-liter V8 up to 540 hp - increases of 95 hp and 120 hp, respectively. These Supercharged SportTrucks will be introduced later this year, as will other performance products such as air intake and exhaust system upgrades.
The only visual changes we see from the single image released (click to expand) include Callaway badges on the doors and grille, as well as nine-spoke alloy wheels, which appear to be the same found on the company's Silverado-based C19 SportTruck. No word yet on pricing, but as reference, the current Callaway SportTruck upgrades start at $17,395 not including the alloy wheels or the suspension and brake mods. Scroll down for the official press release.Continue reading Callaway tuning up 2014 Chevy Silverado, gunning for 540 horsepower
