Default back fire through carb

I have recently bought a 77 nova with a 350 bored 30 over the motor has a cam in it but I don't know what size the cam is. The car was running good and the starter went out. I replaced the starter and ever since it has bent back fireing through the carb I have adjusted the valves, set the timing to 10 degrees advan. put new AC Delco plugs in it still the same result. Could any one help me please. thanks

sounds like timeing chain jumped time

Electrical:
Check your firing order and make sure you have the correct ignition cables going to the plugs and distributor cap.
Check the coil condition
Check the rotor and electronic pickup
Check the distributor cap

Mechanical:
Check the valve timing.
Check the cam lobe and valve lift against specs.
Check the rocker arms and lifters.
Check the compression to identify a blown head gasket or valve train problems
