Default Surging problem

On my 72 Nova 350 2 bl. carb. I have noticed a surging when going down the road at a steady speed. I recently converted my distributor from points to electronic by changing the pickup plate in my old dist. I was told it could be the vacuum advance. I unpluged this and didn't make much difference if any. Any ideas?

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Could be the advance, other than the distributor what else has changed? Does it stutter at idle?

When I did the distributor I also had the transmission serviced. That is all that was done. It does fine at idle and hard acceleration.

Check the tranny modulator valve for a vacuum leak. Idles fine is hard to diagnose as a vacuum leak, but look at what has changed go from there.
