hi michelle. i have an 04 silverado with the auto feature on my headlight switch. when i turn the ignition on my headlights come on. and im having some unknown problem with my xentec hids right now. im wondering that when i start my truck when its dark if the headlights coming on when the ignition is turned to on than started if that will give the ballasts a problem. thanks, sean

Hi,
To answer both your questions, you're probably trying to use the auto feature
see below
HIDs are not mean for DRLS, (halogen DRL are powered partially and HIDs cannot be powered partially) therefore only certain cars will work with HIDs and Relays. You can purchase a relay if you want, but it is not guaranteed though some cars will work and is car specific.
So we still always recommend to disable Auto lights and turn on the lights manually to "ON" position everytime you get into your car.
and yes please purchase a relay so that it will work with your DRL function but still recommended to turn to "on" position and not in the auto.
