1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Outlaw, World Record Setting Supercharged Outlaw Monte Carlo SS

Yes its back! Unfortunately last Deal fell through, In the mean time I keep working on the car and getting it ready for the upcoming season.

Built By Sherman Carter of "Just SAY NO" Fame . It has less than 40 miles on current build. It was originally an Alcohol powered car. This car was sold by Sherman after a heart attack, the person he sold it to wanted to convert it to gas & drive it on the street. They switched to gas carburetors & an ISKY roller blower cam with a milder(!) lift in the .620 range

This car toured the country with this car under police escort from school to school. It has over 130 World Of Wheels Car show victories during this time. He said the first run was a 5.36 in the 1/8 mile. Low 8's in the 1/4.

On Alky with his carbs he said should run low 9's in 1/4 with mild tune & current cam.

Car is a back halved 1986 Monte Carlo SS. Tubbed & caged with front fenderwells removed & cage tied in. The cage has a Funny Car halo. I am 6'3 230 & fit into the car with room to spare so there is plenty of adjustment available for a larger or smaller driver. The upward cross bars have been cut out. They are needed for sub 7 second passes.

It has a Ford 9 inch with 4:56 Richmond Gear, 4 link & coil overs. Moser Axles, Aerospace Racing Components disc Brakes Front & rear.

Car has full interior including headliner, dash with custom gages, 2 Kirkey Aluminum Drag seats, Belts, Pro stick shifter. Painless Wiring Switch Panel , Stewart Warner Gages including 200 mph Speedo. Car has full door panels & carpeted tubs!

Transmission is a TCI Powerglide with transbrake with an 8 inch 5500 RPM stall converter.It is newly refreshed by Brad Howard racing. NOTE the pictures do not reflect the rebuilt trans ( it had a leak & we replaced the case as well as all the seals & modulator)

Engine is a 357 Chevy small block, Forged internals with H beam rods & 4330 forged crank. O Ringed Block . Crower Roller Lifters with Rev Kit. Crane roller rockers. Brodix Track one heads with LARGE roller springs . 620(as told to me) lift ISKY roller Blower cam. Dual Edelbrock carbs on top of a Weiand 6-71 Supercharger. MSD 6AL with Mallory Distributor for blower clearance. Top half recently re sealed with top of the line components. Electric Waterpump with Afco Aluminum Radiator. Has electricly heated custom oil pan. Front mounted fuel cell. Easy to start & sounds NASTY Idles with great oil pressure & cool temps.

Body is all steel & looks great. Paint is very good condition with a few minor blems and small nicks that race cars get but in very nice condition. . Flames are under clear & gives the car a great look. The trunk opens to reveal dual batteries & tub & cage. There are provisions for drag chute & wheelie bars which are not included the sale.( but have been located)

The wheels are in great shape. 15X15 in rear.

Newly rebuilt TCI Competition Powerglide with brake. No miles on transmission. 5400 stall custom TCI Competition Torque Converter, over $ 950 FOR THE CONVERTER ALONE!
Also if you are looking to make a street car I can swap in a race prepped Turbo 350 reverse body transmission without a trans brake.
The car starts, stops & runs as is & everything is in working order. I have not taken it down the strip so I cannot testify to its performance or handling. . You can inspect the car by appointment in the metro Atlanta area at any time . Overall a very nice build & would take very little to get race ready or convert to street car as title is intact.
This is a very historic car & would be an asset to any collection.
