Default 1974? Chevy Suburban

I was wanting to get your opinion on what I believe is a 1974 Chevy Suburban with the silverado package. The next time I am out there I can get the VIN and post it on here. It has sat for 15 to 20 years on my grandfathers property out in the desert. I was wondering if it is worth restoring. Also any information on common problems with this model will be helpful. It currently does not run but we put in a battery and the engine does turn, and all the gauges appear to be working. I believe the gas is bad in the tank and the fuel lines are probably clogged. The parts that I can see that are missing are the tail lights, rear window, radiator, and some other smaller parts. Any comments are appreciated.
Thanks

Old Dog is pretty right on with his advice.
Of course it's nice to have a project, and see something old brought back to a clean useable status...but,

If I was you, I'd get it running, maybe put a window in it just to keep it dry inside, and continue to use it on the ranch. You'll probably enjoy not worrying about putting some brush scratches on it, and not spending a lot of money to have a fairly dependable ride out there to use.

Maybe...
Fresh Fuel
Fuel Filter
Good Wiper Blades
A good set of Off Road Tires
Maybe some strong Running Lights as an add on

Just get it mechanically dependable and as tough as you can make it

Default Update

I just found out the year for the Suburban is actually 1978. So its a little newer than I originally thought.

That's cool, but, have you decided what you're going to do to it ?
