I was driving with cruise control last Friday going about 70 and started going up a slight hill and my rpms just took off and maxed out on the tachometer and when I tapped the break to disengage the cruise control there was a large thud and my truck shook. pulled over onto a dirt road to check if everything was okay. everything looked good, fluid level was good, nice pinkish redish, didn't smell burnt. went to turn around and had no reverse, it just revd. ended up driving through the ditch with 4x4 to get turned around and made it to my destination. shut the truck off and turned it back on in the parking lot and I had reverse again! everything has been back to normal since then (5 days ago). Does anybody know what could have happen?
