Default Building a chopper for a friend

Hello,

I am building a custom motorcycle chopper for a friend. He has physical limitations due to a prosthetic. We are using a Corvair motor in the chopper because we can mate it to the auto tranny and eliminate the need for shifting. Now that you know how and why we are using a Corvair motor here are my questions:

1) Being that the motor will be in open air and exposed to headwind directly, how much of the tins can we eliminate?

2) Can we eliminate the top fan and shroud altogether?

3) How much of a pain is a corvair Turbo?

Sorry to any purists that might be offended, but it's for a soldier who returned after serving our country so bear that in mind before you yell. And I am not tearing up a Corvair to do this project, the motor we will use will already be out of the vehicle, once we get to that point.

Gary,

Thanks for the info, I'll look him up on facebook. I am moving out to Washington state in Feb so I have to wait until I get a place that has a garage I can set up and work from. Just went through a really bad divorce and things are tight to say the least. Wish me luck
