Default Fuel delivery problems

I have an 03 3500 Silverado Dually with a 6.6L Duramax and am having problems with the truck staying on or turning on for that matter. When diesel filters are primed up, the truck will start/stay on but no new fuel is picked up/delivered to the engine. I have gotten several opinions as to what is causing this, but since I am no mechanic or the people trying to help me either, I figured I'd ask true professionals. Side note, the injection pump seems to work fine as a friend fed it power and it turned. I hope this is not a BIG issue and a "quick fix" per say so I can get back on the road with my baby. Thanks in advance for any comment/help relating to this issue.
