Hi there

Seeing as I'm new on the forums, I thought I'd best introduce myself first.
My name is Mike, I'm 21 and I'm from Maidstone, Kent, UK. I currently own a Vauxhall Astra SRi XP 1.9 CDTi 150 and I'm the South East of England Regional Organiser on Astra Owners Network.

Now, the reason I've come to your Chevrolet community is because I'm after some help and/or advice regarding sourcing some parts. As you may know, Vauxhall and Chevrolet are both from the General Motors family, and quite often share a number of parts... I'm after a set of parts that specifically were available on the Chevrolet Vectra GT and GT-X in Brazil...

The parts I'm after are the wing mirror housings. As you can see in the picture below, they house the side repeaters in the wing mirror housings as opposed to on the wing... Now as far as I'm aware, this was only ever available on this Brazilian version. I've scoured the internet and they don't appear on any Vauxhall, Opel, Holden or Saturn versions of the Astra... only on this Vectra variation in Brazil.



Now I'm not expecting this to be cheap with all the import taxes and the likes, but I'm really interested in getting an idea of how much I would be looking at to import a set of these wing mirror housings, but if I'm honest, I have absolutely no idea where to start.

I e-mailed Chevrolet direct a few months back when I first started to get interest in these units, and I got a response the next day from Vauxhall that basically said "We have no idea, but good luck"... I gave up for a little while at the time as I had other things to worry about, but now I'm back on track and I'm interested in looking to try and import a set in the new year... the only problem is where do I get them from?

I know an auto sparky in North London who's done amazing things with his Astra H and many customers cars, and he's shown interest and is willing to give the electrical side of things a go, as obviously the factory loom won't be fitted to my Vauxhall, so we would need to make a custom loom for this... But I trust his knowledge and I'm sure he can do a great job, I just need to source the parts to work with in the first place!

Does anyone work for a Chevrolet dealer that might be able to source these, or would anybody be able to point me the direction of somewhere I might be able to source these from? Bearing in mind I don't speak any Portuguese, I think this is going to be a tough one...

Welcome to the forum mike. i think you check that out in the electrical outlet or go through the Google search you will surely fine the best place to take the parts from.
