Default Motorhome transmission swap ,out

Ok, here goes, I have a 1996 Allegro Star motorhome, I had the transmission rebuilt but I think it was a one type rebuild fits all. I had a 1 year or 12,000 mile warranty, of course the year is up, I took one trip,, after the warranty was up of about 800 miles and found out that my transmission does not like hills, when it was rebuilt I had a transgo reprogramming HD2 kit but the tech. said he does not install them. My question is will a 1992 4L80E and a 1996 4L80E transmission change out? My transmission is bolted up to a 454 Chevy engine, which is built on the Chevy P-30 van chassis, and the 92 is also from a 454 engine that was in another motorhome and I am told it is a good transmission. I would like to change these two over but while I have it out I would like to install the "transgo hd2 series D sept 07 hi-perf and HD firmness-control & durability kit" in the 92 4L80E, any input, on this scenario working?. I am wanting to do this so I can keep my present transmission intact as a back up incase the other does not work out.
