Lightbulb Need help with 1965 C10 steering

We are proud owners of a 1965 C10 and seriously newbees to C10s. Here in this truck, a power steering was subsequently installed, which is obviously not original. We are now looking for the original steering gear from 1965. We see a 5.7 liter engine, but this does not seem to have caused any constraints for the installed power steering. Is there an exploded view so we can see how the original steering gear was installed? Did the 1965 model come with power steering? Or maybe there is a power steering conversion kit available? Any help appreciated...

I'll try to find that out for you. I know the redesigned Chevy/GMC C-10 pickups in1967 came with power steering. Just be glad it's hydraulic power steering. I have driven trucks for a living and most had a huge steering wheel with no power steering. Then they came with air-assisted power steering (everything ran off the air-braking systems back then, including the windshield wipers) but once you got below 60 PSI you were back to no power steering. These new trucks come from the factory with air-brakes alone. You might as well be in a modern pickup truck, with factory air-conditioning, except for a non-synchronised transmission, and even those are being replaced by "auto-shift" transmissions, which I despise.

Edit: No the 1965 Chevy C-10 did not come with power steering, but the good news is that you can add it for $700-975 dollars:

Best of luck, Stefan!

This is good news. I'll check this out.

Are there exploded view drawings available for this model?

I don't know. Perhaps on their web page.
