Default Pitman Arm nut

‘88 Suburban R2500
I couldn’t find a socket the proper size to fit the pitman arm nut that attaches it to the steering box.
All the fractional and metric sockets I tried didn’t fit well. I resorted to using a large gen-u-wine Crescent adjustable wrench.

Do I have an oddball part, or are they “all like that”?
I’m hesitant to pay a lot for a new nut that may be the same size.

thanks
