My 1986 S10 has served me well. However of late it really hesitates upon acceleration. Read some suggestions online and it was suggested to check air filter. I did and it is filthy. Possibly original. Could the solution be this simple?

 

Well, it's one thing to check off your troubleshooting list. Yes it could be that simple. I had an 03 taurus I bought from the girl across the street because it was "a piece of junk!" It just needed filters, tune up.
