Default 1987 S10 2.8L temp gauge not working

Please help. I am racking my brain. I have an 1987 S10 with the 2.8L V6 and some issues. The main issues is the temp gauge isn't working. I figured that the sensor wasn't working. I have changed the temp sensor (in the intake) but that didn't work. So with some research I found there was another temp sender (in the drivers head toward the front). I read that you can ground the plug and see if the gauge works. Well I grounded it and it swept all the way to max. So I figured that sender is bad. Changed it but the gauge still doesn't work. Does anyone have any ideas as to what it might be?

Thanks
