Default 1988 s10 oil sending unit

The gauge goes to 80 stays there while driving even after shutting the engine down. I can turn the key to on and the gauge drops to 0 until starting again. I am posting a pic of the sender with the three wires. Does the large bolt partial circle in red the one I need to remove. I tried to fit a 1 1/4 inch wrench over it to size fit it and its at least needing an 1 1/2 wrench which I do not have. Everywhere I search seems to say 1 3/16 or 30mm neither work if that is correct. Any help appreciated. Its a 1988 s10 2.8 thanks.
