1996 Blazer- needs window motor DSFront
My drivers side window will not operate normally, when it rains-rare in TX, it will work for a day or two, but then stop working- doesn't sound like it is grinding when it does work, tried oiling everything, but it just leaked out. The motor is riveted into the door frame, so I need to know how to get it out, and what is the best replacement motor. Does the motor and regulator have to both be replaced, if so, how do you get it all out safely? There is a screw on top the motor, which looks like it might allow for oiling the motor or gears, but not sure what tool is needed to loosen or remove this. Replacement at the dealer is fairly high priced, any mechanics that would work on this out there? We have replaced the switch, and that works fine, so it must be the motor.
