Question 1996 Blazer revs after start-up

I have a 1996 Chevy Blazer, 4.3L V6. Sometimes after start up it will rev up to 2500 RPMs. Recently, it stalled after this when I didn't put it into gear right away. Any ideas?

ya you realy should not do that but my fod was the same thing and i took out the throttle body and cleaned it with throttle body cleaner and cleaned the MAF then installed a new air filter and bingo did the trick. if that does not work then it could maybe be your TPS. in the morning befor starting up remove the TPS plug and then start it up see what happens (warning your check engine light is going to go on but when you plug it back in it will go away) if unplugging the tps did not work then just clean the tb and maf.
