1996 s-10 wont start right
My s-10 has a new fuel pump, new starter, and new fuel pressure regulator. it still cranks too long before it starts or will not start the until i try to turn it over 2 or 4, sometimes 4 times when it is cold (starts perfect when warm). had it at the shop and the new fuel pump is pushing 100psi when dead headed at the fuel pump, 62psi at the shreater valve. i've spent too much money on this truck and do not want to take it to a garage to have it looked at again. HELP!

I have a 97 4x4 and am having basically same problem. What I have experienced is that the fuel pump relay does not always energize when ignition is turned to run position. Sometimes I have to cycle the key 3 or 4 times before I here the relay energize and fuel pump engage. Also sometimes you will need to pause momentarily between cycles, because if you cycle too fast it won't bring the relay in. I am fairly certain that this is in the column ignition switch and not feeding power to the ecm. Because the ecm sends signal to fuel pump relay. Not 100% sure, but it is my educated guess and maybe someone will post with more accurate information.
