Default 1999 S10 catalytic converter issue

Just had a code read for a bad catalytic converter. Truck is a 2.2L w/205K miles. No problems otherwise.
I've seen parts on ebay and other online sites fetching anywhere from $175-250 for this part. Anyonehad theirs replaced or have an idea what one would cost installed?
Had the fuel pump and front pipe replacedwithin the last yeartoo.I've had thistruck for over 6 years and ithas been reliable for the most part. I would hate to part with it under such conditions. Is it time to move on to something else?
Thanks!

Just had one replaced on my Trailblazer.
I had MufflerMan do the job. They installed a universal cat for $300. they just cut the old one out, and welded a new one in.
Having a smaller engine, you may get away with a smaller\cheaper cat.
that price was in canadian dollars so you may get it cheaper if your in the us

Only slightly smaller number now....

Anyway, catalytic converters are so expensive because they have a platinum element. That being a rare earth metal, it makes it expensive.
