Default 2000 Blazer fuel pump question

I have a 2000 blazer and needing to reinstall the fuel pump, because my fuel gauge is jumping from empty to full then back to fuel. I was told that there was a plate in the back above the pump for easy access. I was wondering if that is true or not. They said it was on the 2000 models and newer. If anyone knows please let me know thanks

Hi hspears,

Welcome to the Chevy Forums.

Had you checked for an access plate?

It sounds like your vehicle is at a

design change year, where they may have

started changing the design at some point

halfway through the model year.

BTW, sorry about the spammer. FIFU.

Have you checked our thread search under

Blazer for prior posts concerning a fix?

I have changed many blazer pumps including a 02 last week, there are no escape hatches on a blazer for the pump.
