I have the same problem except that I didn't replace the pump. I found the ground wire that the fuel tank attaches to had another black wire coming off of it. The fuel pump I have has a four squared plug and a 3 flat plug. (I can’t find that replacement, I guess you have to get the newer style fuel pump). The black wire coming off the four squared plug I found to run back to the diagnostic plug. Then the ground diagnostic plug ran to the same bolt the fuel tank plug went to. I test it and nothing. Cut and put another connector on it and it ran just fine. Four days later the pump is not working again. I don’t hear the fuel pump even turn on which makes me believe that it is still not the pump. Did you find anything out on yours, looks like we may have the same problem. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

I replaced my pump twice and in the hole 500.00 cause the pumps would work about two weeks then stop again. Realized had a short in the ground wire after the second fuel pump . Now my freeze plug has went out. Sorry Chevy losing my faith in your vehicles!

Default fuel pump power problem

2000 blazer zr2. started the truck yesterday and it ran for a second then shut off. i then realised the fuel pump was not kicking on. checked fuses and relay. all where good. so i put in a new fuel pump. still not working. now its a 4 wire plug. purple wire has no power and no ground. grey wire has pos power and black and black with stripe are both ground. with black wire and grey wire on a volt meter i get 12. but with grey and black with stripe i only get a little over 8v. does this mean the the stripe is a bad ground? this truck has me so frustrated im not shure what it can be and i cant find any diagrams to explain. but if i dont plug the connector into the pump and run just 2 of the wires with jumpers (black and grey) to each other the pump will run.....

Default Pump problem

Did you find your probem? I have the same problem. No power at purplewire. Jump from ground black to power grey at plug and have 12 volts. jump grey & black together at pump and pump runs. Plug it in nothing? Thank Ern
