Default 2000 Trail Blazer electrical issue

I am driving a 2000 Trail Blazer with 145,800 miles on the odometer. Lately, I've been having an intermittent problem with the console mounter shift lever. When I start it, sometimes the RPM needle and the speedometer needle are dead, along with the fuel and water temperature, and the odometer window. It is sluggish on take off and will respond to engaging second gear, and manually moving into third and D.
If I stop and turn it off, and restart it, sometimes it comes back normally, and sometimes it doesn't. When the needles, etc. are dead, and I turn it off, I'm unable to lock the ignition and remove the key. The VIN is 1GNDT13W4Y2158797. Any suggestions out there? This my third used Blazer, I've been able to find two 2000 models, this Trail Blazer and an LT that were gently used, well maintained and with immaculate leather interiors. Thanks

Likely some corrosion in the wires somewhere, particularly if you live in a humid area, near an salt-water ocean, or where they salt the roads in wintertime. Remember, its an 18 year old vehicle, so issues like this are bound to crop up, no matter the make, model or manufacturer. Please run some OBD II codes for us, so we can help you.

Check ALL your grounds- at battery- at battery to fender, at battery to engine, engine to firewall(should be two) and engine to frame-
