I need to change the smog pump and check valve and seeing that I am approaching 70 yrs of age-----need to ask where is the smog pump located so I don't have to go looking. Thanks to any bow-tie friends that can help

 

i was surprised that this engine uses air injection.

the air pump is located on the front side of the engine below the throttle body. the check valve appears to be part of the air pipe that connects the pump to the exhaust manifold.
