4.3 with tranny probs...
Hey Guys!
My brother in law has a 2000 GMC Jimmy 4x2 with 4.3. and 4L60E tranny
Tranny has gone out completely and instead of rebuilding, I want to buy a good used one and just swap it out...I am seeing several 4L60E on craigslist and want to know what will fit his.... I mean if i get one and put his bell housing on it this should work right? I do know that is does have to be a 4x2 tranny but like does it matter if it came out of a 94 camaro for example? as long as it is a 4L60E?
Thanks in advance!!!!

yeah all 4L60E's are the same as far as i know..As long as it is a 4L60E it will work...
But i will give you some good advice...dont buy a used one.. i work at a junkyard and most of them places doesnt know if the trans is good or not..we have to swap parts out all the time cause of defective..
It only cost me 1600 dollars to get mine BUILT with a shift kit.. and thats with amsoil trans fluid... ( racing trans fluid) i have had mine in for 4.5 years and still going strong....so if it was me and this is coming from someone that works at a junkyard....
get yours rebuilt..and dont try and find the cheapest place to do it...never go cheap on suspension, engine, or drivetran parts.... thats my input...
Good luck
