4.3 Vortec NO START after engine change
This is my first post, so I apologise if this has been asked before. I am not American, so my terminology may be different, but hopefully you will understand me.
We have a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer which I bought because it was rust free, despite being mechanically defunct. We replaced both the 4L60E transmisison and the 4.3 Vortec engine.
The replacement engine came from a 1997 Oldsmobile Bravada, which ran at the time the engine was removed.
Our problem is failure to start the engine.
We have replaced the spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, and distributor rotor. I am certain that the plug wires are wired correctly.
We have spark. We have sufficiently high fuel pressure, tested with a meter, and fuel is spat from each of the 6 injectors of the injection spider.
Do you have some ideas ?
I thought about the Crankshaft Position Sensor, but if a GM product behaves like a Chrysler then there would be no spark if the CPS was bad. I'm guessing, then, that the CPS is OK. I'm prepared to be corrected on this.
I'm hesitant to jump to the conclusion that timing is the problem, but I have forgotten whether we replaced the timing chain, and sprockets, of this engine when it was in the Bravada.
Thank you, sincerely, for your advice.

did you position the distributor shaft properly before you installed it? the point on the distributor has to be at 6(v6) or 8(v8) AFTER its installed, AND the crank should be pointing at 0 Degrees.
i just changed intake gasket on mine and it wouldnt turn, it was the timing issue all along.
