Default 82 c10

I have recently changed from a 305 to a vortec 350. The 350 came with a 12" flexplate where as the 305 came with a 14". Now the truck will not move. I have excessive amount of fluid on my dip stick. Transmission was left in and not changed. Will spin the tires over but only off the ground. Everything worked fine before the engine swap.

the only thing i can think of that could of happened is you pulled the converter out of its seat and you have damaged the pump.

did you remove the converter?

No I didnt. I kept the transmission in and kept is secure. I didnt realize that it had came out a little until the swap was over with and the start up began. I unbolted the converter and made sure it was in good and spun it. Now the wheels spin better off the ground but still nothing when I lower the truck. I heard too much fluid can cause problems as well.

Was the fluid level the same before the swap? The only thing that would cause an excess on the dipstick if the level was the same, and ok, would be coming from the TC

if the TC came out and unseated and you forced it back on accident when installing the trans you can damage the pump that way also. the excessive fluid could be from a damaged pump not effectively pumping the fluid out of the trans pan
