i just bought a 92 s10 2.5 2 wheel drive. its hard to start. if you pour fuel down in the throttle body it will start and run.. but no fuel it will crank and crank. might start might not.. if you cycle the key a few times it helps. replacing the fuel filter tomorrow. hopefully that fixes it. if not i need more suggestions.

 

check your fuel pressure, From what mitchell is telling me, it should be 9-13psi.
What type of fuel system is in it? carb, throttle body injection?

 

its throttle body.. i replaced the fuel filter today it starts somewhat easier but stil its cycle the key and hope it starts and then repeat. the throttle body barley dribbles out fuel and its pulses that way. dribble fuel stop dribble fuel stop. im replacing the fuel pump tomorrow.

 

replaced the pump and fuel sending unit.. the old one was rusty and leaking. it starts and runs now.. it dont start up easy. it cranks over about 4-7 rotations before starting.. reading the voltage att the battery i get 12 off and 14.8 running. but the gauge in the cab reads 18 or higher. maxed out. and the oil pressure reads around 20 or higher and then will drop suddenly. so fast it will bounce. and it will jump back up the same way. any ideas?
