Default 96 Blazer 2wd trans slips ?

I have an auto 96 Blazer, 2wd with about 139k miles on it. when i drive it feels like it can't get out of first or second gear. i'll put my foot on the gas and the rpm will go up to 4 or 5 without moving or the car will only be going 20mph. i put a bottle of lucas no slip in it and it's had absolutely no effect on it. i don't if the trans is actually slipping or someone said it could be something electrical. can someone please give me their input who can help me. thanks !
