Default ABS Problem

Hey Everyone,

I have a 2000 S10 Blazer 4wd. Today, I replaced the lower ball joints and the left wheel hub. After putting everything back together my ABS is activating around 10mph and stops at 5mph. ABS will activate regardless if I am on the brake or not on the brake but I must be slowing down. Because of this, I replaced both ABS sensors in the front and the issue still occurs. Any suggestions or thoughts? Is it possible the Hub is bad?

I'm afraid I'm not sure what you are talking about.. Are you referring to the fact that your brakes pulsate when you stop?

Yes, When stopping the brakes pulsate from the ABS not like a pulsation from rotors that need to be cut. The ABS is constantly coming on when stopping but not until 10 miles an hour and stops at 5mph.

Sounds to me like the ABS module has gone bad. If you have changed the wheel speed sensors, then that only leaves the module.

What would cause the ABS Module to go bad?

I have done a little research for you. I'm changing what I think the diagnosis is. I beleive that the new hub possibly has a broken tooth on it. The wheel speed sensors detect the magnetic tolerances of the passing teeth on the hub making an induction current in the sensor. I'm working with my knowledge of the2wd model here, but it still works on the same pricipal. There may be no teeth on the hub, it could have another way it induces an electrical current in the sensors. It can't be much different. Take off the wheel speed sensor and spin the wheel slowly and check all the passing teeth on the hub, if none are broken, I beleive it may have to be the ABS module.
