Default AC clutch adjustment

Is there a way to adjust the ac clutch on a 2004 delphi unit? Or do i have to just replace clutch? It works if i push the outer piece closer to the electro magnet before start up and stays on till it either cycles off or i shut it off. Keeping the system on "maximum" cool It stays on till i shut it off. While "pushing" it closer it pops like its hung up on something. It acts like it is to far from the magnet to be pulled in on its own. I've poked it (JUST ONCE) with a stick while the truck was running and the air turned on with success also. I've read that there is a special tool i might be able to rent from a auto store to adjust it, is that true? Thx Bob

Try blowing out real good with air. Also spray it good with brake cleaner getting the cleaner in between the plates and then blow it off again. We do that here at work on electric clutches and most of the time it works.
