Just installed a new radio. I moved the auto shifter down to 1st gear to make room to remove dash cover. I installed the radio and moved the shifter back to park. The gear indicator showed transmission was still in 1st gear. All this done with truck turned off. Shifter acts like it's unhooked from the tranny. Just don't understand why this happened. Have moved shifters in other trucks when working on the dash or radios while turned off. Any ideas? Thanks.

 

Found problem. Cable popped off tranny. Thanks.
