Default Back Up Lights

Hi,

I am having problems with my back up lights. When I put the truck into reverse, the lights do not come on. I checked them with a meter and I am getting no power. I checked the wiring harness and I couldn't see anything. The wire that leads into the back up lights is a lime greenish color. I have had a lot of problems with the rear wiring harness in the past. I had to run a new ground to get the break lights to work. I have seen that posted a few times before on this forum, but not this issue.

Default RE: Back Up Lights

hello, i'd check the fueses first, its most likely the neutral safty switch, the back up lights come on only when in reverse i would also suggest the haynes manual for your year truck, it has a full picture of the switch location on page7b3 1982-93 manual and 7b4 1994-2004
