Default a/c

hey guys. I bought a cheap 01 S10 today and just noticed the a/c compressor doesn't spin when it should. I'm not sure if im going to bother the previous owner because i got it for 2 thousand. where do i start? just charge part ways and check it or what?

also never came with a spare. I knew that. can a tire and rim from a 01 or 02 s10 work that has a v6? the tire is a 235-75-R15?

thank you for the advice early.

# 94608 for sale if you're interested. Purchased it for my 89 S10 Blazer, but sold it prior to replacement.

thank you. My heater works better then I expected. (first s10 pick up I drove let along own since driving my uncles 90 s10 about 10 or 12 years ago) But the climate control seems in good shape.

Also, I had to drive my buddy to work early this morning and didn't notice before(probly because the radio was on), the 2.2 engine sounds like the 4.3 vortex engine(owned a 94 s10 blazer), and first time I took it on the highway this morning and the trans was shifting at the slowest every 10 seconds and sooner in and out of over drive. Going to check the trans fluid before I go to work. I do have to admit there are alot of stuff I need to learn about the s10 that I know about the jeep.

Before you go replacing any parts try charging the system first with a can of A/C pro. Sometimes the clutch wont engage if there isn't any juice in the system
